I work on the intersection between Behavioural and Development Economics. My research agenda can be divided in two main topics: (a) Behavioural Economics and Welfare: what welfare criteria should we use when people do not choose what is best for themselves? and (b) Psychology and Poverty: does relative deprivation affects preferences and behaviour? How and why? How do initial disadvantages interact with beliefs and motivations? How does such interaction affect individual and social welfare?
