Expertise
Laura Klaming is a senior researcher at both the Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society (TILT) and the Tilburg Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies of Civil Law and Conflict Resolution Systems (TISCO). She holds a M.Sc. degree in psychology from Maastricht University (2004) and a Ph.D. (summa cum laude) from Bremen University (2008).
At TILT, Laura's primary research interest lies in the area of law and neuroscience. Her current research at TILT concerns the possibility of applying neurotechnologies to various problems within the field of psychology and law, including improvement of eyewitness memory and the detection of deception, as well as the ethical and legal implications thereof. In addition, she is involved in research on the influence of neuroscience evidence on legal decision-making.
At TISCO, Laura is involved in the Measuring Access to Justice project which aims at the development of a valid and reliable instrument to measure justice procedures from the perspective of the user. Her main research interest within this project is the perceived quality of procedures using insights from social psychology research.
