Projects
Contract research
- EC-project PARTNER. Project duration: October 1, 2003 - September 30, 2005. Contents of the project: The main goal of the project is the development of a software tool to show how slot allocation and charging can be implemented, overcoming the traditional difficulties in harmonised capacity management and access charging over international corridors. Specific task: Developing a new system for standardized access to infrastructure charging throughout Europe. Coordinator of the collaborating group consisting of colleagues from Tilburg University, the University of Genoa (Italy) and the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain).
- EC- project EuROPE-TRIP. Project duration: June 1, 1997 - May 31, 1999. Contents of the project: The project addresses the re-organisation process that is reshaping the railway sector in Europe, i.e. the separation between infrastructure management and transport service provision. Its general overall purpose was to assist in evaluating a range of strategies, which could be set by policy makers and followed by infrastructure managers in the context of European Directive 91/440. Specific task: Defining a standard method for analysing the costs of using infrastructure in the context of a European railway system and proposing a way of dividing the costs in a fair way among the different users of the infrastructure. This work has been carried out in collaboration with colleagues from the University of Genoa (Italy) and the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain).
