Ph.D. degree in economics, Free University of Amsterdam; main areas of research and publications: econometric methodology, spatial economics, pension finance, transformation process in formerly planned economies, ethics and finance and the functioning of financial markets.
Career

- Head of the Capital Market, Public Debt Management, and Emerging Bond Markets Programmes at OECD in Paris.

1991-1995, CSCE Professor of Economics, University of Twente, The Netherlands;
1990-1998, Advisor and visiting scholar, IMF;
1986-1990, Deputy Head of the International Monetary Affairs Division, Dutch Ministry of Finance, the Netherlands member of the OECD Committee on Capital Movements and Invisible Transactions and a temporary alternate Member of the Monetary Committee of the EC; assistant Former Minister of Finance Onno Ruding in his capacity as Chairman of the Interim Committee of the IMF;
1984-1986, visiting Scientist, Smithsonian Institution.
