Expertise

Dr. Vingerhoets? expertise is in the areas of stress, emotions, and quality of life. His special interest is devoted to specific themes like crying and stress and leisure, as well as the development of new assessment tools to measure quality of life. He published more than 200 articles in (inter)national scientific journals and wrote/edited 11 books.

Projects

Dr. Vingerhoets' research mainly focuses on the issues stress, emotions, and quality-of-life. This research is conducted among oncology, gynaecology, and orthopaedic patients. In addition, he is interested in the crying behaviour of healthy individual and patients with affective disorders.

 

Teaching

Dr. Vingerhoets teaching activities concentrate on health psychological topics. In particular, stress, pain, oncology, gynaecology, endocrinology, the hospital setting, research methodology, and the (non)expression of emotions in relation to disease are in the focus of his courses.
