The Ministry of Science and Innovation, together with the European Commission, is organising the "Science against Poverty" Conference. It aims to convey a clear message to society on the contribution of science and innovation to the fight against poverty and exclusion.
Science and innovation should play a more active role in the promotion of social cohesion and in the fight against poverty and, consequently, against social exclusion.
According to the Spanish government, there is a lot science and innovation can do to provide solutions for the situations of exclusion suffered daily by millions of people around the world.
