Collection Economics and Business Administration

On this page you find information on the various collection parts: (digital) books, journals, databases, Master's theses, mandatory literature, research memoranda and annual reports.

Books
The general indication for books from the collection is ECO. The books are located at level 2 in subject categories from I to N, subsequently with subdivisions. The locations of books can be retrieved in the Catalogue UvT

E-books
The library is currently testing the use of e-books (digital books). These are mainly student textbooks and encyclopaedias. Titles are listed in the Catalogue UvT.

Printed journals
The location of printed journals is as follows:
  • Recent issues of journals per collection are displayed alphabetically by title at level 1.
  • Bound journals of the last five years are also located at level 1, but sorted by T-number (the location code for printed journals, which consists of the letter T followed by five digits).
  • All older volumes are stored in a closed repository (CBM). These volumes can be requested from the repository by filling out an electronic form.
You can look up T-numbers assigned to specific journals in the Journal Catalogue Tilburg University. You cannot borrow journals

E-journals
A large amount of electronic journals is available electronically which you can check in the Journal Catalogue Tilburg University. For a survey of journals per section you can use the journal portals of the various publishers.

Articles
You can search for individual (journal) articles in various databases. More information.

Databases
Via the databases you find information you often do not find via Google or other search engines. The central starting point is the page Catalogues and databases. Via Databases by subject you access the databases for Economics and Business Administration. Use the databases to find e.g.

Theses
Doctoral, bachelor and Master's theses can be found in the section ECO SCR at level 2. Ever more theses are published online and have an URL instead of a site. The printed theses are for loan. Both printed and digital theses can be found in the Thesis database. Older theses are stored in the closed repository.

All mandatory literature in the student library can be found in the section ECO SB at level 1. Books from the student library are not on loan.

Research memoranda
Research memoranda are research papers, working papers, discussion papers of national and international research institutes in the field of economics and mathematics. Many papers are available in full text on-line. The site and/or the full text of the research memoranda can be found in the database Research Papers in Economics.

Annual reports
Electronic annual reports of Dutch and foreign (listed) companies and the annual reports of national banks can be found in AnnualReports.info or the annual reports in hard copy can be found in the closed repository of the library at level 0. The location of the annual reports can be viewed in the Catalogue UvT.
