English
One of the basic requirements made of students enrolling in English-language programmes at Tilburg University is that they have a fairly high level of proficiency in English upon entry. In the case of the Bachelor's programmes, this generally means that prospective students are required to score at least the equivalent of a Level 6 on the IELTS test; in the Master's programmes the score required is usually a 6.5.Even given the fairly stringent demands being made, there is always room for improvement. It is with this in mind that several of the programmes in English have incorporated English proficiency coursework into their curriculum. Furthermore, all students can enrol in the courses offered by the Language Centre. In addition, the Summer School also offers a course in Academic English, aimed in particular at prospective Tilburg University students, as part of better preparing them for successful scholastic careers at this institution.
