Individual Language Training Programmes for External Participants

Individual training programmes for external participants are available for English, Dutch as a Second Language, and Dutch: Effective Communication, as well as Chinese, French, Spanish, German, and Italian. In these programmes, participants work with instructors from the Language Centre at improving their language proficiency and/or specific communicative skills by dealing with the individual problems they have in a tailor-made course of studies. Note: all of these programmes assume as a minumum level of prior education on the part of participants at least the equivalent of the Dutch HAVO and VWO secondary-education curriculum.

Individual Language Training is an excellent way of working on your language skills. Informal language use at work, presentation skills in the form of feedback on lectures or conference presentations, writing skills (e-mails, abstracts, etc.), and improving your pronunciation are among the many topics that can be dealt with in training sessions. Anything is possible and training can be done at any given language level.

In order to enrol in the Individual Language Tutoring program, you need to:

  • make an appointment with the coordinator for an intake interview;
  • fill in a registration form provided during the intake interview;
  • sign the form and return it to the coordinator.
The training sessions can start as soon as the enrolment form has been returned and it has been confirmed that you have paid the fees due.

During the intake interview:

  • your requirements and questions will be discussed;
  • the contents of the training sessions are determined;
  • the registration form is filled in, thus setting:
    • the aims of the training sessions;
    • the number of sessions;
    • the teacher of the training sessions;
    • the total costs.
