Members of staff who wish to improve their proficiency in English are welcome to enrol in the individual training programme at the Language Centre. Based on an intake interview in which your individual wishes and needs are determined, a programme is set as well as the number on one-hour sessions required to achieve your goals.

The individual training programme can consist of:

• Feedback on lectures or conference presentations: An experienced English instructor attends one of your classes or presentations, providing you with comments and evaluative remarks afterwards. Feedback is provided on your general presentation skills, use of language, pronunciation, and vocabulary use. The instructor can provide you with advice on improving your skills. These areas of improvement can be worked on in a subsequent individual training programme.
• A course of individual tutoring sessions. Sessions can be focussed on such issues as:
  • pronunciation;
  • informal and formal language use;
  • grammar and punctuation;
  • report writing.

Target Group
The Individual Language Training programme is open to all Tilburg University members of staff, on the condition that participation has been approved by the appropriate departmental officer (link to enrolment procedure).

Duration
The length and weight of the programme are contingent on the individual's needs and wishes.

Cost
