Lama Amnyi Trulchung Rinpoche is the abbot of the Ju Mohor monastery in Tibet and the spiritual director of the vista project in Kham, Tibet. Lama Amnyi is a fully qualified Buddhist teacher educated in traditional Tibetan Buddhist teaching. Amnyi is the fifth reincarnation in the lineage of Rinpoche. He represents the old tradition of Tibetan buddhism that emphasizes on the similarities between the traditions of the different schools. Rinpoche has given lectures in the past in England, The Netherlands, Spain, Luxemburg, Hong Kong, Singapore, Nepal en Australia.
At the moment, Rinpoche is busy with the Vista Project in Sershul, a city near the Ju Mohor monestery. This innovative project aims to improve the quality of life of the Tibetan people, both in an economic and cultural sense. Although the Chinese economy is quickly improving, the people of East-Tibet do not profit from this, due to their lack of education. The Vista Project is therefore focused on basic education among nomads, to not just let them profit from the modern economic climate, but also preserve and develop the ancient culture of Tibet.
The subject of his talk will be the preciousness of human life, a central thesis in Buddhist philosophy.
In short, an evening with surprising spiritual views from an ancient culture. Amnyi Trulchung will present in English.
