Regular meetings
The Zwijsen building is a place for silence as well as a place of communication and meeting people with different views, opninions and/or beliefs.
Here you'll find some information about meetings, that are organised in the Zwijsen building on a more regularly basis:

1. CWL-meetings
The CWL organises meetings and activities in this building, for instance discussionprogramms (with personal opinions on a certain subject by scientists and/or students), meetings for interdisciplinary study and cultural events. Guestspeakers from outside the university were also invited, for instance bishop Ernst (Breda), politician André Rouvoet or artist Marc Mulders.
During the academic year 2008-2009 the CWL will organize a number of meetings under the general title "Met het oog op de campus" (Dutch language mostly), in which each time the topic will be a question of the day .
Those who are interested are welcome to join. The meetings start at 15:45 hrs. (untill 16:45 hrs.)

2. Zenmeditation:
There is the possibility to meditate in a group on every Monday-evening in the Zen-tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, ea Vietnamese Buddhist Monk. Those who are interested are welcome to join in.

3. Silent meditation:
There is also the possibility to meditate on every Tuesday during lunchhour. After a short introduction of 10 minutes (for new members) a meditation in absolute silence is being held for half an hour. This meditation is a Zenmeditation in a Buddhist tradition (Vipassana), and can easily be learned by anyone, regardless their religious or nonreligious background.

4. University prayer
Every two weeks a Christian prayermeeting is held on Wednesdays.

5. Sufi dhikr ceremony
On some Thursdays or Fridays a Sufi dhikr ceremony is being held in the building.

6. Muslim Friday-prayer
On every Friday muslim-students and -employees gather to join in a special meeting of prayer because of the muslim Friday-prayer. Those who are interested are welcome to join in.
Start: between 12:00 hrs. and 15:00 hrs. (starting time varies during the year). Meetings lasts for approximately three quarter of an hour. Specific data: see the Agenda

7. Students organizations
At Tilburg University a number of students organizations are present, of which some frequently organize meetings with a religious and/or philosophical theme.

The Centre for Science and Values (CSV) has supervision of the Zwijsen building, but is only responsible for meetings in which it is involved in the organization. For meetings which are organised by other members of the university community the CSV can not bear the responsibility for the contents.
