Visitors from the EU/EEA
EU/EEA citizens* do not need a visa to enter the Netherlands, neither for a short, nor for a long stay. All they need is a valid passport. They may travel through all Schengen countries freely.
*EU/EEA citizens are citizens from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom.
Visitors from non-EU/EEA citizens
To enter the Netherlands, a Visa is required for all non-EU/EEA citizens (except Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, New Zealand, and the United States of America).
Tilburg University will apply for a visa on behalf of all students who require one, so you do not need to aplly yourself. Tilburg University has an agreement with the Dutch Immigration Service to arrange this visa via an accelerated procedure, which takes approximately four weeks. If you apply for the visa yourself, it may take longer than six months. All students who need a visa will receive an e-mail from Tilburg University in which detailed information is provided about all required documents and deadlines.

For a stay longer than three months:
An Authorization for Temporary Stay (Machtiging Voorlopig Verblijf) is required. The International Office of the Faculty of Law will apply for the visa for you. Please read the information available on our site and contact the International Office if you have any questions.
