Student wins iPad in Hello World campaign
Tilburg University student Luuk van Laarhoven has won an Apple iPad as part of the marketing campaign 'Hello World' that aimed to create more interest amongst (inter)national students for the unique Master's programme IMSE, International Master in Service Engineering. IMSE is offered by TiSEM in cooperation with the University of Stuttgart (Germany) and the University of Crete (Greece) and is part of the Erasmus Mundus scholarship programme of the European Commission. Luuk was presented with the iPad by IMSE Programme Director Prof.dr. Willem-Jan van den Heuvel.
Luuk was so lucky as to guess the total number of people that joined the 'Hello World' campaign E-card, which consisted of Facebook profile pictures of all the participants. In total, 313 people joined the E-card, which set a new record and made it the largest e-card in the world.
Tilburg School of Economics and Management awards 15,000th Master's certificate
During the presentation of her Master's certificate of Finance on Monday 9 August, Eefke ter Sluis received a special surprise. Jenke ter Horst, Vice Dean of Education at the Tilburg School of Economics and Management, entered the room with a large bouquet and handed it to her. The Master's certificate Ter Sluis received turned out to the 15,000th certificate handed out by the School, calculated from March 1963.
The Dutch newspaper Volkskrant and the Germany Institute Amsterdam (DIA) award every other year a prize to a thesis about Germany or about the European Integration process and the role of Germany in this.
