Nobel Prize winner and leading economist Robert C. Merton has held the Van Lanschot Lecture 2009 on Thursday 11 June at Tilburg University.
Merton received the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1997, together with Myron S. Scholes. Merton was awarded this Nobel Prize because of this Theory of option pricing, his method to determine the financial value of options. Robert C. Merton is Professor of Economics at Harvard Business School.
The Van Lanschot Lecture is an initiative of Van Lanschot Bankers and Tilburg University.
This year’s lecture was the fourth edition of the yearly lecture. Previous Van Lanschot Lectures were held by Olivier Blanchard (2006), Martin Feldstein (2007), and Benjamin Friedman (2008).
