Profile CoRPS

The interdisciplinary research center CoRPS is an initiative of the Department of Medical Psychology and Neuropsychology of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences (FSW) of Tilburg University in cooperation with the Department of Methodology and Statistics and the executive boards of the St. Elisabeth Hospital and the TweeSteden Hospital in Tilburg.

CoRPS addresses timely and much needed research issues in the interface between medical and behavioural sciences. The mission of the research within CoRPS is to contribute to disease management care for patients with chronic medical conditions. Disease management care is an approach to health care that identifies patients at risk, measures outcomes and intervenes with specific programs of care.

The research output of CoRPS is published in high-quality international journals and PhD theses. CoRPS organizes activities (seminars, workshops and conferences) to stimulate academic discussion and promote the development and dissemination of knowledge among scientists, practitioners and policy makers.

  • Management

    CoRPS has a board of directors consisting of the academic director, Prof. dr. Johan Denollet, and the managing director, Hans Dieteren MSc. The academic director bears the final responsibility for the direction of the overall research program. He ensures that the quality of this research program adheres to high scientific standards. The managing director is responsible for internal organization and external relations.
    For certain research areas CoRPS has research coordinators.They supervise (the activities of) the researchers working in this particular area of research. At the moment the research coordinators are Prof. Dr. Susanne Pedersen (cardiovascular disorders), Prof. Dr. Jan Anne Roukema (cancer and psycho-oncology), Prof. Dr. Margriet Sitskoorn (neurological disorders), Dr. Frans Pouwer (diabetes and hypertension) and Prof. Dr. Peter de Jonge (depression and anxiety).

  • Partners

    Partners who are willing to contribute substantially to the research program and to provide a subsidy or grant can participate in CoRPS. The founding partners of CoRPS are the St. Elisabeth Hospital and the TweeSteden Hospital in Tilburg.
