JSF strengthens innovative power Dutch industry
Participation of The Netherlands (companies, research institutes etc.) in the international JSF programme results in a substantial increase in turn-over, knowledge intensive employment, powerful technological develop-ment and an improved (long-term) positioning in the global aerospace industry. Programmes like the JSF are vital in strengthening the Dutch aerospace cluster in Europe that, together with the larger EU member states, already plays quite an important role. Therefore, continued Dutch participation in the JSF programme (last July renamed as F-35 Lightning II) would be very helpful in developing the innovative power of the aero-space industry.
These conclusions are included in the new report "JSF: Strategic position-ing in the global aerospace industry" (in Dutch) by CentER Applied Re-search, institute of applied research at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Tilburg University, The Netherlands. The re-search was commissioned by NIFARP. The authors of this report, prof.dr.ir. Bart Vos and drs. Mark van de Vijver, base their conclusions on interviews with fifteen Dutch companies and research institutes in the aerospace cluster and three main contractors in the JSF programme (Lockheed Martin, Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney).
